How to Teach a Puppy

Dog obedience is crucial for a happy pet costume/owner romantic relationship. Learning a few basic pup training tips will have you well on the way to successfully training your puppy.

Puppy Training Foundations
Motivate your puppy
Once you bring your puppy home, step into his mind frame. Canines are pack pets and prefer to follow a leader. In the event that you become one, your puppy?s biggest inspiration will become making you happy.

Keep it Consistent
The only path your pup will ever learn is when there is a clear and constant connection between your puppy?s actions and your reaction.

If your pup does something right, incentive and compliment him enthusiastically. If he does something wrong, inform you you?re not happy or disregard him.

For example, if you don?t want your pup on the furniture, say ?No? loudly and guide him off every time he climbs up. Then compliment him each time he gets on the floor.

If you fail to be consistent, your pup will be too.

Puppy treats
There are no free rides as it pertains to treats. Make your pup earn each one of them.

It?s better to avoid handing out pup food as praise every time. Start steadily replacing the treat with compliment. Once your puppy has learned a command, supply the treat every other time, then every third time, always praising enthusiastically. Pretty soon, your puppy is wonderful for praise and the occasional treat.

Correcting mistakes
Dogs are not spiteful. If your pup is doing something amiss, it probably got the idea it was okay. You must teach your pup otherwise.

First, catch him in the act. Dogs can?t connect a punishment to an action hours or even minutes ago. Never hit your puppy. Instead, when you see your puppy doing something wrong, say, ?No? in a sharp tone. Whenever your puppy stops, compliment him and give him another thing to do like ?Sit down? or ?Come?. Compliment him abundantly for responding.

Remember, puppy dog training does not have to be harsh. With so many different training methods available, choose one that best fits you and your puppy. If it doesn?t work, just try another o
